L’evento INAD-ITALIA 2017, organizzato dall’AIA, prevede:
– momenti didattici di informazione/sensibilizzazione sul tema dei suoni e dei rumori negli ambienti di vita degli studenti;
– distribuzione di materiale informativo sul tema dell’acustica;
– premiazione degli elaborati prodotti dagli allievi delle scuole italiane per il concorso INAD IN EUROPE 2017.

(ENGLISH) The International Noise Awareness Day (INAD), suggested in 1996 by the Center for Hearing and Communication is celebrated every year in many countries. The European Acoustics Association (EAA) organizes a series of events addressed to the society with special emphasis to young people who are among the most sensitive parts of our society. In each of the EU countries events are managed typically by the respective EAA Member Societies.
In 2017 EAA is involved in a wider campaign in order to raise the interest of the European citizens towards noise and its effects on the quality of life and health.
For the INAD 2017 EAA collaborates with the European Commission (in particular the DG-Environment), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Environment Agency (EEA) for promoting and coordinating specialized activities during this year, among the European and National Governments and Institutions, together with associations, universities, schools, museums, etc. aiming to give to a wider public the most accurate and scientifically correct information on noise effects.

Some examples of important activities and events organized in 2017 are the following.
At the conference “Noise in Europe”, 24 April 2017, Brussels, Belgium the World Health Organisation will present the latest scientific evidence of the health effects of noise. Representatives from Member States, public authorities, scientists as well as associations and organisations interested in environmental noise and noise effects on workers and population, will discuss policy options to ensure we strike the right balance between the source of noise we all depend on, and the healthy lives we want.
In the film “In Pursuit of Silence”, produced in the frame of the above mentioned collaborations, there is a meditative exploration of our relationship with silence, sound and the impact of noise on our lives. Beginning with an ode to John Cage’s ground-breaking composition 4’33”, In Pursuit of Silence takes us on an immersive cinematic journey around the globe– from a traditional tea ceremony in Kyoto, to the streets of the loudest city on the planet, Mumbai during the wild festival season – and instantly inspires us to experience silence and celebrate the wonders of our world.
The video cartoon “Noisella in the sound space” is a short movie produced by EAA for students, children and pupils, about the importance of the identity of soundscapes.
Two Pan-european competitions for students of primary and secondary schools entitled “Sound of my place” are promoted and managed by EAA. They have the purpose of raising awareness on sounds and noise characterizing landscapes and soundscapes all along Europe. Students and classrooms are required to send drawings, audio and video recordings, representing the sound identity (sound footprints) of a place. A jury made of experts in Soundscapes and a popular jury based on social media will make the selections and award the National and European winners.
